Barrier to Matriculation
In high schools in the periphery, students in 11th/12th grades (preferably 12th grade) are identified who, according to the school’s assessment, are unlikely to successfully pass the matriculation exams in one or two of the compulsory subjects required for the matriculation certificate. These subjects are considered “barrier subjects” to obtaining a matriculation certificate, while the students are expected to succeed in the other subjects. Therefore, success in the matriculation exams for the “barrier subjects” will grant these students a matriculation certificate.
The program leads the identified students to success in the “barrier subjects” and eligibility for a matriculation certificate.
The program is implemented according to the principles of the Accelerated Gap Reduction Method by Yecholot and is executed in preparation for both the summer and winter matriculation exam sessions.
The average learning duration for each subject is about one semester, with most of the learning taking place after school hours and in the form of intensive learning days and learning marathons held outside of school.
The learning team in the program is made up of school teachers who, prior to implementation, participate in specific training for the program led by Yecholot mentors.

The program operates in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, educational divisions in the municipalities, educational networks, and philanthropy.
